EastEnders spoilers: Tommy Moon brutally attacked by gang as Phil Mitchell makes devastating mistake

TOMMY Moon grows terrified of his bullies and turns to Phil Mitchell for help.

But after a shocking mistake, the EastEnders bad guy is horrified to find the young boy has been viciously attacked.

Phil and Kat have separated

While a lifetime in prison awaits him, Phil (played by Steve McFadden) ties up every lose end he can before facing justice for his villainous deeds.

This includes responding to Tommy’s (Sonny Kendall) cry for help when the latter asks him to pick him up from school so he doesn’t have to deal with his bullies.

In upcoming scenes of the BBC One soap, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) first tells Phil it’s not fair for him to still be close with the kids when he’s going away for a long time soon.

Yet when a worried Tommy asks him whether he can still pick him up from school later on, Phil keeps his word and agrees.

Later, however, when Henry pays Kat a visit and he watches the woman he loves openly flirt with him, Phil sees red and orders Henry out.

Kat is furious but their rowing is interrupted by a call from Tommy.

In a heartbeat, Phil realises he made a horrifying mistake – he forgot to pick Tommy up from school and, therefore, didn’t keep his promise.

Phil returns home alone, panicked, but can’t find Tommy.

The boy suddenly appears and Phil is devastated to see that he has been brutally beaten after being attacked by bullies.

Kat jumps through the roof and demands to know who attacked Tommy – but the schoolboy refuses to point fingers.

She quickly realises that Phil was helping her son behind her back.

Kat is then crushed to learn that Tommy is being bullied at school after forcing the truth out of him.

She grows more worried about how the kids would react to Phil’s departure for prison.

This prompts her to make a decision about her future in Walford.

How will Phil make it up to Tommy after forgetting him?

Will Tommy ever be rid of his bullies?

What does the future hold for Phil and Kat?

EastEnders airs on BBC One.
