FORMER Eastenders star Rory Jennings revealed the eye-watering salary he earned on the BBC soap.
Rory, 38, played bad boy Craig Dixon in 2007 had the potential to rake in more than what today would be worth £10,000 per week.
The former actor only appeared on Eastenders for a few months in 2007 and revealed he would make £1,000 per episode.
He also could bring in even more money thanks to the ‘omnibus’, where BBC would play back to back episodes of Eastenders on a Sunday afternoon.
“I was on £1000 per episode, and this was way back in the day. Then you had the Sunday repeat, the Omnibus on Sunday which was basically for people who were hungover from about 12pm till 3pm,” Rory told The Fellas Podcast.
“They would do all the episodes from the week on a Sunday, and you would get 80% of your fee again.”
The podcast host added: “So you’d get a grand per episode and then 80% of that for the Sunday show. So in theory you could be in four episodes per week, which is £4000 and then the 80% meant you were getting six grand a week.”
The total figure he could earn would actually be £7,200 in a week which in today’s money would be £10,122.65

Rory’s earning potential could have been more than £28,800 per month if he appeared on every episode that month, but not all characters are in every episode, meaning his earning potential was probably a lot lower.
In a clip of the interview posted to TikTok, fans could not believe the staggering amount the actors earned.
“Imagine how much the main cast were earning,” wrote one person.
Another added: “28k a month
.”
And a third wrote: “Sign me up, eastenders was always my favourite.”
Some of the current biggest paid star on Eastenders include Danny Dyer and Steve McFadden.
Show insiders claimed Danny was paid £400,000 a year to play Mick Carter, the king of the Queen Vic, but that might be overblown, with Beeb accounts revealing £250K was more realistic.
The Daily Star reported Phil Mitchell actor Steve McFadden earned £300,000 a year, but that wasn’t confirmed when the Beeb published stars’ salaries.
Other big paid stars on Eastenders include Diane Parish (Denise Fox), Gillian Taylforth (Kathy Beale) and Letitia Dean (Sharon Watts), who are all reportedly paid £150,000.
The show’s previously highest paid actor and longest serving star, Adam Woodyatt, who left the show in 2020 after playing Ian Beale for decades is reportedly being lured with a deal reputed to be up to £300,000 to return.
