Soap Cast Celebrates Three Wins
EastEnders fans got a rare glimpse of the cast letting loose at the National Television Awards. The BBC soap took home three awards at the glitzy ceremony, and the stars wasted no time in celebrating their victories.
Caught on Camera
Jamie Borthwick, who plays Jay Brown on EastEnders, captured the fun-filled atmosphere while still at the event in London's O2 Arena. He filmed his co-stars and backstage crew dancing and singing along to Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline", which has become a good luck song for English football.
A Night to Remember
Danielle Harold, who won the award for Best Serial Drama Performance, couldn't contain her excitement as she clutched her NTA and jumped up and down. Tony Clay, who plays Callum "Halfway" Highway, and Rudolph Walker, aka Patrick Trueman, also joined in on the fun.
Sharing the Joy
Jamie shared the video on his Instagram, expressing his enjoyment of these moments with his cast mates and the EastEnders team. Fans were quick to respond, with one even asking to attend the Christmas party. The EastEnders cast was praised for their down-to-earth nature and for loving every minute of the awards show.
Rising Star
In addition to Danielle's win, Bobby Brazier, the son of Jeff Brazier and the late Jade Goody, took home the Rising Star award for his portrayal of Freddie Slater on the BBC1 soap. Bobby dedicated the award to his father, mentioning his mantra, "Because I can", which has inspired him.
Best Serial Drama
The EastEnders cast and crew were also honored with the award for Best Serial Drama, solidifying their reign as one of the best shows on television.
