Nervous for the Live Anniversary Episode
EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has expressed her nerves for the upcoming live 40th-anniversary episode. Co-star Patsy Palmer also considered throwing in improvised lines during the live show.
Short Time to Learn Scripts
Cassidy and Palmer revealed they have only a few days to learn their scenes for the celebratory episodes airing next week. They did a first read-through last week and will start delving into their dialogue and storylines this week.
Live Episode Details
The anniversary week will include normal 30-minute episodes on Monday and Tuesday, an hour-long special on Wednesday, and the live episode on Thursday with two possible scripts to film, depending on a viewer vote that closes just 20 minutes before broadcast.
The Nervousness Factor
Cassidy admitted feeling privileged and excited but also very nervous about her central role in the anniversary celebration. Palmer, who plays Bianca Jackson, shared similar feelings and excitement for the live show.
Experience and Character Knowledge
Despite the nerves, both actresses rely on their experience and deep understanding of their characters to get them through the live episode. Palmer, who first joined the soap in 1993, highlighted the importance of getting it right.
Future Plans and Special Viewer Vote
Palmer, who now lives in California, mentioned that she couldn't return as a full-time cast member due to the fast pace of life in the UK. Additionally, a special viewer vote will determine Denise Fox's partner in the upcoming episodes.
