The 65-year-old actor is also an accomplished stage star and appeared in last night’s EastEnders instalment
The reoccurring character was first introduced on BBC One in 2008 and ruffled the feathers of many Square residents along the years and his 52 appearances, including Stacey Slater.
But during last night’s trip to Walford, his behaviour was branded inappropriate by some viewers after he flirted with Honey Mitchell (played by Emma Barton).
65-year-old Nick Wilton hadn’t been seen on screens since July, 2022.
The actor has many credits to his name as he’s starred in many other programs in the likes of The Bill, medical drama Casualty, Heartbeat, Justin’s House, Doc Martin, and Doctors.

But in 2011, one of his busiest years in EastEnders, Nick became the face of a hilarious Specsavers commercial alongside Michelin star chef Gordon Ramsay.
In the advert, Nick walks into a steam room, undressing himself to relax.
He closes his eyes, ready to wind down, but picks up a carrot just as pots and pans appear in the background.
The steam dissipates, only to reveal Nick was never in the sauna in the first place as he’s sat naked in the celeb chef’s busy kitchen.
Chefs look on in horror while Nick tries to hide what he can but Gordon Ramsay, known for his explosive temper, angrily chops a sausage.
The brand’s famous “should’ve gone to Specsavers” appears on screen as Nick sits in awkward silence.
Graham Daldry, the creative director for Specsavers, spoke to The Drum about the actor’s performance at the time.
“A great performance from Nick Wilton, beautiful direction from Daniel Kleinman again and, of course, Gordon Ramsay to really make the joke count”, he said.
“It’s got to be worth three Michelin stars.”
Aside from his many appearances on screens, Nick Wilton has had a number of roles on stage.
He first appeared in pantomime in 1987 and, since 2000, stars as a dame every Christmas.
