STEPHEN Reid’s evil plans to get rid of Elaine Jones have been foiled by Tim Metcalfe as the couple were getting ready to tie the knot.
Jilted and humiliated, Elaine (played by Paula Wilcox) makes a huge decision about her future next week in Coronation Street.

Elaine slowly realised her fiancé Stephen (Todd Boyce) was trying to make her seem in a low mental headspace and hellbent on ending her life.
The couple had been encountering relationship issues as Stephen seemed more invested in the future of the Underworld factory and Elaine became convinced he never really wanted to marry her in the first place.
Stephen tried to convince Elaine to give him another shot with a trip away from Weatherfield – where he planned to leave her for dead to cash in on her life insurance.
Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) realised what Stephen had been up to and the pair of men had an explosive row which escalated into a fight.
Following the altercation, Elaine decides to move on and her Tai-Chi instructor Gerry Northrop (Graham Turner) makes a move on her.
ITV viewers have noticed chemistry between Elaine and Gerry and predicted she may find comfort by his side after escaping from the clutches of Stephen Reid.
But when Gerry invites her for a drink in scenes due to air next week, Elaine is flattered but asserts it’s too soon for her to get back on the horse.
Stephen is then thrown out of his Redbank Appartment as Tim throws his belongings out of the window.
His sister Gail (Helen Worth) and niece Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) witness his predicament and try to help him collect his things.
In later scenes, Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) suspects that Tim was the one to throw Stephen out and she asks him to double check with Elaine if that was even her own intention.
What will Elaine respond?
Elaine has been infatuated with Stephen since he first returned to the cobbles in 2022.
Little does she know he’s actually a serial killer with three murders under his belt.
Cash-strapped and desperate for more money, Stephen has resorted to many underhanded ways to get what he wants – including drugging Underworld boss Carla Connor.
Will he ever be exposed?
Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
