Emma Willis and Nick Grimshaw have revealed their wardrobe blunders on The Great Home Transformation

Nick admitted he lost a few jumpers after he kept leaning on walls that had just been painted

While the pair loved bringing happiness into people’s lives, they admit there was one downside to proceedings.

Nick told The Celeb Report’s TV Mag: “There was the occasional time when I’d lean on a wall and forget it had wet paint on it.”

Emma added: “Yeah, there were a lot of coats that definitely needed to have a good clean afterwards.”

Nick continued: “I took a jumper that I wore to the dry cleaners and I was like: ‘Can you help?’ And he was like: ‘No. There’s paint all over it.’

“And I said: ‘What can I do?’ And he said: ‘Buy a new one.’ So we lost a few jumpers, but that was about it.”

The plans for each Great Home Transformation will be informed by specialist technology and interior design intelligence.

Emma explained: “We put heat-mapping technology in the house for about four days and it’s literally like a mini Big Brother, they just watch you constantly and they find out the cold spots that you don’t use.

“Then when they come to Alex, our interior designer, with what they feel doesn’t work for them and what they feel they would benefit from, she then goes away and taps into the spots that aren’t used, or redesigns the layout so that the house functions better for the couple, or the family.”

It was this element of the show that really appealed to Nick, as he said: “I love the tech and I love the science of it and I think it’s your house, you should use it, use all those areas.

“So I really liked that problem-solving aspect of it because the science-y bit I liked, there was a reason as to why this would work, rather than: ‘That’s a nice table!’

“So I did enjoy the heat mapping and the studying of how they use their houses.”
