EMMERDALE fans left baffled over the disappearance of Pearl Ladderbanks.

It’s been over two years since the flamboyant pensioner – played by Meg Johnson – was on our screens.

Fans worry over the disappearance of Pearl

The last time Pearl was mentioned was in January 2020 when Rhona said Pearl moved into a static caravan in Demdyke wanting to express her independence.

Fans shared their disappointment as they miss seeing Pearl on the ITV soap.

One said: “Where the hell is Pearl Ladderbanks? Has the actress Meg Johnson left Emmerdale for good?

“She just disappeared without any explanation! It’s a shame, she was a great character!”

Another wrote: “I loved Pearl and really miss her. I wish she’d come back.

“There’s potential there to strike up a great friendship with Mary.”

A third penned: “It would be nice to see the character again yes, I guess there’s little for her in the village though.”

The actress could have been isolating during the pandemic.

But fans ponder whether she will eventually return.

The 85-year-old first arrived onto the Dales in 2003 as a receptionist at the vets.

She has been part of some huge storylines since, including being trapped in a fire during the Sugden house explosion, developing a gambling addiction and faking Alzheimer’s disease.

Meg also appeared as Eunice Gee on Coronation Street and Brigid McKenna on Brookside.
