KELVIN Fletcher has not been seen in the Dales since 2016 after playing the role of Andy Sugden.
But McDonald & Dodds viewers were surprised to see the former soap star last night during Sunday’s instalment of the ITV show.
ITV aired a new instalment of the crime drama’s third season starring Tala Gouveia and Jason Watkins as DCI McDonald and DS Dodds.
Both detectives were thrown into the world of Formula 1 after a promising driver died in mysterious circumstances.
However, fans of the program were more surprised by one of the suspects in the case was a familiar familiar they did not expect to see.
Former Andy Sugden star Kelvin Fletcher made a brief appearance during last night’s episode as a member of the team the late driver was a part of.

Kelvin was a long-standing resident of the titular village for twenty years, from 1996 to 2016.
He played the part of Victoria’s adoptive brother, a character who was known for his relationships with Katie Addyman, Debbie Dingle and Jo Stiles.
His time in the Dales began to end when he embarked on a fling with Chrissie White.
Upon finding out he had spent a night with her stepmother Bernice, Chrissie framed him for the shooting of her father Lawrence.
Andy famously fled the Yorkshire village with help from his adoptive brother Robert and Bernice.
While the farmer’s whereabouts remain unknown to Emmerdale residents, Kelvin has remained active off-screen.
The Strictly winner is known to drive the odd race car when he’s not on another TV set, which undoubtedly inspired his appearance in McDonald & Dodds.
But Kelvin wasn’t the only Emmerdale resident to make an appearance last night.
Mary Goskirk actress Louise Jameson was also seen in McDonald & Dodds, alongside with Doctor Who’s Paul McGann who starred this time as Mr Addington.
