Emmerdale fans work out shock affair twist for village favourite after her ex turns up

EMMERDALE fans have worked out a shock affair for Lydia Dingle after her ex Craig turned up at her house tonight.

The cleaner – who is played by actress Karen Blick in the ITV soap – was horrified earlier this week when she ran into Craig at the recruitment fair at The Hide.

Viewers watched as she told him about why she disappeared – and the traumatic time she had with baby Toby.

He was the father of the baby who died at birth and who Lydia secretly buried in the grounds of the children’s home they both lived in.

And tonight Craig turned up at Wishing Well to speak to Lydia again.

Lydia and Craig reminisced about their past and the abuse they suffered in the children’s home.

“We survived and made lives for ourselves,” Lydia told him.

“We did good.”

But as they caught up Sam returned home and he looked very put out that a man with a flash car was parked outside.

He probed about whether Craig would hire Lydia.

“I’ve just taken a new office in town,” said Craig. 

“I’m looking for programmers, developers… But we’ll always need cleaning staff, and considering Lydia’s something of an expert.”

Turning to Lydia he added: “The offer still stands. Think about it, and if you’re interested call me.”

Now fans think Lydia will take the job – and begin a shock affair with Craig.

One wrote: “Is Lydia and Craig starting something here?”

A second said: “Hmmm, this is fishy.”

Another added: “Lydia is definitely going to be having an affair with him.”
