PADDY Kirk is spiralling out of control and made the decision to vanish from the village.
Next week in Emmerdale, the police slowly give up their search for him and the Dingles are at their wit’s end.
Paddy Kirk is feeling incrasingly isolated
He has started to spiral after finding out his wife Chas cheated on him
But he also vanishes from the village
The beloved vet portrayed by Dominic Brunt was heartbroken when he found out his wife Chas Dingle had been cheating on him with Al Chapman.
Chas’ illicit romance had catastrophic consequences for both the businessman and her family and Paddy is finding it hard to cope.
In recent scenes of the Yorkshire-based drama, the latter spend the night with former flame Mandy Dingle, leaving many fans with their jaws dropped.
However, Paddy then left to run an errand and never returned.
In scenes due on ITV next week, members of the Dingle clan are determined to find missing Paddy and pull together to plan a search party for him.
Soon enough, everyone if on pins as PC Swirling arrives with news of a sighting of Paddy.
The family gather round to see Paddy in some CCTV footage but they’re horrified when they’re told the police are scaling back their search after locating him.
Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) is fuming and heads out while it becomes clear that Paddy doesn’t want to come home.
However, Chas and Mandy (played respectively by Lucy Pargeter and Lisa Riley) find Paddy’s hiding spot at a nearby guest house and nervously go search for him.
Unbeknownst to them, Paddy has spied them from a distance and is still not ready to be found.
Emmerdale bosses have confirmed Paddy is set for a hard-hitting suicide storyline as the character has continually struggled with his mental health since his split with Chas.
In scenes airing next month, the vet will be issuing veiled goodbyes to his loved ones before deciding to act out.
The storyline will aim to give an accurate view of male depression and suicide, as explained by producer Laura Shaw.
“As soon as we started discussing this story we knew that it was vital for us to get it right and that we needed to open up the conversation about male depression and suicide”, she explained
How will it pan out?
