Emmerdale spoiler for today May 18, 2023: Wendy Posner makes a shocking discovery

DRAMA picks up a pace in an hour-long episode tonight with viewers set to discover a huge secret about Liam Cavanagh.

Emmerdale nurse Wendy Posner learns what the GP is hiding as a new shock affair storyline is set to begin.

ITV viewers are keen to see what the future holds for Moira Dingle as she realises her financial situation is too dire to ignore… and Caleb Milligan gets ready to pounce.

Meanwhile, Wendy Posner (portrayed by Susan Cookson) is thrown back into the spotlight tonight when she finds out Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) is keeping something from everybody in the Dales.

Liam has made his passion for whodunnits clear in recent months but Wendy finds out he’s been dabbling in writing his own stories.

Tonight, the pair bond when she discovers that he’s a published author going under an intriguing pen name, Anna Le Monde.

Wendy and Liam will then enjoy each other’s company as she tries to help him with the ending of one of his stories.

How will Bob Hope feel about Wendy and Liam getting closer to one another?

This comes as Emmerdale bosses confirmed the village GP and the nurse will be embarking on an affair.

Spoilers also revealed they’d be involve in a steamy surgery romp as their mutual attraction escalates.

Actors Susan Cookson and Jonny McPherson spoke to The Celeb Report and other press about the upcoming storyline and while Wendy will try to put a stop to the affair, a headstrong Liam won’t take “no” for an answer.

“She feels terrible because she does love Bob”, Susan teased.

“She’s devastated about that and basically, she tells Liam that this has to stop.”

“This was a moment’s madness it was great fun but she is in a deep, meaningful relationship with Bob and it has to stop.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
