The past few months haven’t been easy for Wendy after she found out her son Luke attacked her other son Lee for being gay.

Luke opened up about his sexuality after his mum found out that he was on a gay dating app – which he was using behind his girlfriend Victoria Sugden‘s back.

He explained that he had been hiding his true identity because of what happened after he came out to his brother Lee on the day of his death.

Luke admitted that they got in a fight, Luke then knocked him to the ground and injured his head.

Lee’s injury came shortly before Robert attacked him with a shovel after he found out that he raped his sister Victoria.

Robert confessed to murdering Lee because he was convinced that he was the one that killed him.

Wendy is now set on helping Robert get his freedom.

But she was shocked when Robert decided not to appeal his conviction in recent scenes despite the recent development with Luke.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV
