EMMERDALE stars Matthew Wolfenden and Isabel Hodgins returned to the ITV soap last night.
Matthew, 41, who plays David Metcalfe, and Isabel, 28, who plays his lover Victoria Sugden, made a triumphant return with fans reacting in their droves on Twitter.
One said: “Vic and David are so adorable together”
Another declared: “loved seeing David and Victoria back on screen in tonight’s #Emmerdale, great stuff”
Matthew sported a shock of newly highlighted hair, and many said he resembled England football legend Becks.
Another raved: “David trying to copy David Beckham! Even though Becks is waaayyyyyy hotter!”
One more said: “Seems so weird seeing David with blond hair!”
The pair had been seen at the studios in Leeds in December.
Matthew and Isabel returned after a race row inquiry.
The pair had been absent from the set since September when it was claimed a mixed-race actress was upset by a comment and her accent allegedly being mimicked.
The Celeb Report has learned ITV bosses accepted their explanation that the alleged remark and mimicry were “misheard”.
ITV said it had made a “rigorous enquiry” but no formal action will be taken and they are now expected back on set.
