The Woolpack bar manager portrayed by Lucy Pargeter struggled to process her mother Faith’s terminal cancer diagnosis.

She found comfort in the late businessman (Michael Wildman) and the pair’s bond developed in to a full-blown affair.

Annoyed ITV viewers begged for Chas to be caught out, as they grew increasingly frustrated with her behaviour.

And they could finally be getting their wish.

Coming up, Chas discovers more information about Al’s funeral and wonders if she should attend with his fiancée, Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton).

However, she comes to terms with the possibility of not being able to attend as she explains that she also needs to attend Liv Flaherty’s send off.

Kerry is understanding but Chas clearly needs to wave a final goodbye to her lover.

Since Al’s murder, Chas has been unable to express her feelings for him and has had to keep her own grief under wraps to avoid raising suspicions but it’s clear this is getting too much for her.

While at Liv’s memorial, she’s unable to contain her pain and leaves the event early, awash with guilt.

Back at The Woolpack, she spots the Wyatts and is told there was a poor turn out at Al’s funeral.

After a chat with Kerry, Chas decides to steal an order of service – which could expose her.

Overwhelmed, Chas lets her rage and grief out at home and Paddy’s suspicions begin to grow.

He later chats to Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick), wondering if there could be more to Chas’ escalating grief.

Times have been hard for Chas Dingle.

Before Al’s death – which she believes was caused by her brother Cain – Chas was hit with the pain of losing her mother Faith.

The village veteran ended her own life, determined to breathe her last on her own terms.

Liv Flaherty’s tragic passing then followed amid an explosive anniversary week.

Chas then had no other choice but to say goodbye to her son Aaron who was unable to accept her betrayal of Paddy.

While the Dingles are aware of Chas and Aaron’s fallout, none of them truly know why they aren’t on good terms with the exception of Cain who found out about Chas’ affair, much like his sister Belle before him.
