Helen Flanagan has hit an ’emotional’ motherhood milestone

The mum-of-three has weaned son Charlie off her breastmilk

Helen has admitted it took six weeks to completely wean her baby boy off her breastmilk, with their final feed taking place during their sunshine break.

Taking to Instagram, the mum-of-three shared a pretty make-up free snap of herself as she shared her “bittersweet” news with fans.

Helen wrote: “Stopped feeding my baby boy on holiday.

“It’s so bittersweet, felt a bit emotional about it but so many other amazing stages to come and can’t wait to watch his amazing little personality grow.”

Helen also posted a picture of herself feeding Charlie when he was just days old, adding: “14 months of feeding my beautiful baby boy, always my baby.”

Together with her footballer fiancé Scott Sinclair, Helen also has two daughters, Matilda, six, and three-year-old Delilah.

The star has been praised by fans over the years for her honesty about the highs and lows of parenting.

In April, Helen admitted she had experienced a “challenging few weeks” with breastfeeding Charlie and juggling her daughters.

She said at the time: “I’ve decided to stop feeding. I’ve really enjoyed nursing Charlie but the past month I’ve just had enough.

“Today was the first day I’m trying to gradually wean him off during the day (he feeds too much).

“I love being a mum and I’m so grateful for my babies, but I’ve just felt so drained so making some changes.”

Helen added: “Found the past weeks quite challenging with mum life.

“I think it’s quite good to be honest, as we see such perfect images of motherhood on social media.

“I’ve never had any childcare for Charlie but I’ve decided to get some week. To help him eat more and get off the boob. It’s just different stages and they will pass.”

After reaching the big milestone in Dubai last week, Helen has posted another snap of Charlie snoozing peacefully on her.

She confessed: “Fallen asleep on mummy and it’s so nice he’s not irritated and wants me to breastfeed him.

“It’s taken me a good 6 weeks to gradually wean Charlie off the boob.”
