The star fell to his knees

That’s despite negative comments from head judge Simon Cowell who said he was “disappointed” by his cover of Les Miserablés’ ‘Bring Him Home’.

Travis opened up about how BGT and its viewers had turned his life around after being in a “bad place” before auditioning last year.

After the judges were split in the vote between Travis and Harry, Simon sent it to the public result.

As hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly sent him through to the final, stunned Travis dropped to the floor.

The grateful singer fought back tears as he said: “First off, Harry you are abs inc my friend. I don’t know how it’s me here and not you buddy.

“Thank you for helping me believe in myself again. It means everything, I mean that from the bottom of my heart.”

He had earlier told the crowd: “You guys give me life. You are the reason I’m here, I mean it.”

Viewers touched by his story were glad to see him secure a place in the final.

One said: “Well done Travis George you deserve it and one way or another your life will change so believe in yourself and go for it, good luck enjoy yourself.”

Another added: “Travis George. Thought it was a good performance tonight. The audience loved you.

“And now you can think big for your performance in the Final. Can’t wait to see you there. Well done.”
