ESCAPE to the Chateau star Angel Strawbridge has revealed why the night before she married Dick she ended up ‘sobbing in the bath’.
Angel, 42, and Dick, 61, tied the knot at their stunning 19th century French castle in 2015.
But Angel revealed the pressure of renovating the huge property left her in tears, when she should have been relaxing before their big day.
The mum-of-two told Hello! magazine: “We were engulfed with exhaustion.
“It was the first time I’d had a bath and I had a little sob.
“We’d been working 18, 20 or 22 hours a day and were flying high on adrenaline and couldn’t lose our focus. Most of the house wasn’t done.”
Angel then added: “But there was a moment, before people started arriving, when it just didn’t matter. Our mental state changed.
“We put flowers around the place and knew everything was going to be okay.”
Angel and Dick, who shot to fame on the Channel 4 show in 2016, met 12 years ago at a party and despite doubts about their age gap went on to marry.
They share two children called Arthur, nine, and Dorothy, eight.
Earlier this month the family left their chateau in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France, and headed home to the UK for their new live show Dare To Do It.
Their tour will see them travel up and down the country to share their story with fans over the next few weeks.
