ESCAPE to the Chateau’s Dick and Angel were issued a stern warning from their manager after leaving their famous home to return to the UK.
The couple embarked on a 2022 Dare to Do It tour around the UK earlier this year.
It was the first time in two years that the pair – who have won a legion of fans thanks to their Channel 4 show – have been able to tour the UK because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Dick and Angel spent five weeks touring the country with their children Dorothy and Arthur in tow, and have now shared the advice they were given by the tour manager.
Alongside some pictures from their time in the UK, the couple wrote: “In 2019 our tour manager told us that every night must be as good as the first and we have taken this very seriously.
“However, there is something different about opening night because there is an underlying feeling of ‘anything can happen’.”

While the couple were well rehearsed with their show, they admitted things still could go wrong.
They continued: “Even after 2 days of rehearsals and testing everything technical is working, there is a small anticipation of the unknown.
“It’s daunting and exciting in equal measure!”
Dick and Angel also revealed how their children helped keep them calm before going in front of a live audience.
They wrote: “At the start of every show Arthur and Dorothy wait with us in the wings, and that is the best grounding one can get.”
Angel recently opened up about how it felt to come back home once the covid restrictions had eased.
She told the Belfast Telegraph: “We love coming over to see the family. Admittedly with Covid things haven’t been easy.
“But at every opportunity, we’ve always been on the first ferry back.”
Escape to the Chateau airs on Channel 4 and is available on All 4.
