When is Euphoria season 2 released?

Sadly for Euphoria fans, season two won’t be out for a while.

Production of the second series was planned for March 2020, but was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic and has not yet been picked up.

However, it’s not all bad news for fans, since it has been announced that two special “bridge” episodes will air in the gap between series one and the entire second season.

Zendaya, who stars in the show as Rue Bennett, previously explained why the Euphoria crew decided to release the two bridge episode during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel.

Two ‘bridge’ episodes of Euphoria will air this December

She explained: “We might end up doing a little bridge episode. An episode that we can do with a limited amount of people in a safer environment that can give people something

“We also miss Euphoria as the people who create it, too – and give everyone who loves the show a little something so we have something to live on until we are able to go into season two.”

Series one followed drug-addict Rue Bennett, played by Zendaya

What is Euphoria about?

Series one follows the life of a 17-year-old drug-addict named Rue Bennett.

It documents her experience at a rehab facility, but at the end of season one, Rue suffered a relapse after using cocaine when her girlfriend Jules left her.

The synopsis for the first of the bridge episodes reads: “In the aftermath of being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing, the first special episode follows Rue as she celebrates Christmas.”

A teaser for the episode sees Rue contemplating her life in a diner, where she runs into Ali – a man she met at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting in season one.
