Exciting news for Bluey fans: CBeebies show set to air special 28-minute episode

What to expect

Bluey fans are in for a treat as bosses are making an exciting change to the CBeebies show. The Aussie cartoon follows Bluey, an energetic and imaginative puppy known for her curiosity. The title character – an Australian Cattle Dog – lives with her Mum, Dad, and little sister Bingo. Usually, episodes air for seven minutes, however, a 28-minute special called "The Sign" is imminent.

Special episode details

In the story, the Heelers' family home is up for sale and Bluey is unhappy. Her teacher Calypso offers comfort by sharing a proverb about a farmer who trusts everything will turn out the way it’s meant to be. The special episode, written by show creator Joe Brumm, already won a Kidscreen Award in 2025 for Best One-Off, Special or TV Movie in Preschool Programming.

Voice talent and UK release

The voice talent includes Dave McCormack and Melanie Zanetti as the voices of Dad (Bandit) and Mum (Chilli), alongside other well-known names. Kate Morton, Senior Head of Commissioning for CBeebies, BBC Children’s and Education, expressed pride in offering Bluey to UK audiences, calling the extended episode a perfect Easter treat for families to enjoy together over the weekend.

Additional episodes and where to watch

As well as "The Sign," 13 new Bluey episodes will be available on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer from April 7. Fans can also catch Bluey daily on CBeebies and all episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer. The show, which launched in 2018, has become beloved around the world.
