Ex-Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan signs up for huge reality TV show after split from footballer Scott Sinclair

HELEN Flanagan has been single since splitting with footballer Scott Sinclair last year.

But that may be all about to change now the actress has being lined up for Celebs Go Dating.

Helen Flanagan is a tv pro thanks to her many years on Corrie, making her the perfect candidate for Celebs Go Dating

My insiders revealed the former Coronation Street actress — who broke up with Scott in October after 13 years together — was top of the E4 show’s wish-list for the upcoming series.

A source explained: “Helen is the perfect candidate for Celebs Go Dating and E4 is hoping that she will agree to take part when they approach her for the new series.

“She is a television pro thanks to her time on Corrie and is incredibly glamorous.

“Helen would be the star signing for the show and the production team have put her name at the top of their wish list as they think she would be a hit with viewers. Helen only split from Scott five months ago so it’s still very early days for her in terms of finding love.

“She is also a devoted mum to their three children and hasn’t had time to meet anyone new.

“But the producers think that Helen may be open to dipping her toe back into the dating pool with the help of the the programme’s relationship experts Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson.

Copping off

“The show really does try and help the stars find love with people outside of their industry and Helen could take a lot from it.

“They will pull out all of the stops for Helen if did take part.”

During the last series of the show, soap star Gary Lucy ended up copping off with his co-star, Love Island’s Laura Anderson, during filming.

She is now expecting his baby.

And although the pair are no longer together, it goes to show that stars can find romance on the programme.

Celebs Go Dating isn’t my cup of tea, but I can see why watching lovelorn famous people trying to find “The One” could make for some comedy viewing.

Sisters return journey

MOTSI Mabuse says working with sister Oti again was a big reason behind her signing up for ITV1 series DNA Journey.

They haven’t shared the screen since Oti quit Strictly Come Dancing last year.

Motsi says: “It was a joy. I’ve never worked intensely with Oti before. I got to see another side of her.”

Oti added to Radio Times: “We’re opposites. Motsi is the cautious one, I’m the risk-taker. When she needs a boost, I’ll give her one. An when I’m a bit stuck, she’s there to help.”

The sisters head to their homeland of South Africa to discover their family roots, finding links to anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Plus, they also find out for the first time that their paternal grandfather, who died before they were born, served during the Second World War.

The episode airs next Tuesday at 9pm.

Oli in a battle of Wills

MODEL and actor Oli Green has bagged a part in The Crown – playing Prince WIlliam’s love rival.

He was spotted on set in St Andrews where filming for the upcoming sixth season of the Netflix drama is under way.

The latest phase of the royal saga will show Wills meeting future wife Kate Middleton at the elite Scottish university.

Judging by pictures, Oli’s character got there first as he is shown holding hands with the future princess, played by Meg Bellamy.

Wills, played by Ed McVey, is snapped looking jealous as he bids to prise her away.

I bet the Prince of Wales is glad that hunk Oli wasn’t his competitor for Kate’s affections in real life.

Less sex scenes for You

TELLY hunk Penn Badgley gets plenty of bedroom action in Netflix hit You.

But the US actor – who plays serial killer Joe Goldberg – is now keen to rein in his romping.

And after he raised it with the show’s writers, they agreed.

He explained on the Radio Times podcast: “I have a personal preference and it is what it is. I think it [portraying intimacy] should be unpacked from every perspective.

“Actors, especially at the beginning [of their careers], have no power. You have no agency whatsoever.

“Only as you get more and more successful do you have agency, and even then, it’s quite controlled.

“I finally felt comfortable to say: ‘This is where I’m at. How does that sound to you?’ And the show’s response was really rewarding and encouraging.”

I’m not sure his army of fans would agree . . .

Mark is happy to be seen

MARK Stanley is still getting noticed, weeks after the finale of Happy Valley.

At last week’s Cheltenham Festival the actor attracted a lot of attention from fellow attendees – but he revealed it was a lot nicer than some of the comments he gets.

Mark, who played wife beater Rob Hepworth in the BBC1 hit drama. said: “ I’ve come along to the festival with my mates and people from all quarters of life pull you to one side.

“Due to the nature of my character, a lot of people take a wide berth.

“On Oxford Street the other day, and I had 15 lads chanting, ‘Paedo’.

“But I thought, ‘At least they’ve all seen the show.’”
