FAME in the Family viewers have slammed “pointless” show- branding the first episode “a load of cr*p”.
The Channel 4 show is the new DNA guessing game, where celebrities host dinner parties with a twist, as four strangers never met before work out if they’re related to the star host to win share of a grand.
The guests are given a bizarre box of clues about the famous person as they try to piece together any links to the famous face.
Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood was the first celebrity up and discovered that he was related to a woman called Holly.
It was revealed that Craig and Holly shared Welsh ancestry – although the other participants have Welsh ancestry too, it’s not the same ancestry as Craig’s.
They all shared a half-drunken hug and then took a random group selfie to take home with them.
Viewers were baffled by the concept and thought it was a “waste of time”.
One viewer wrote: “#FameInMyFamily pointless show ever.”
Another posted: “Well…that show…what a load of cr*p #FameInMyFamily”
A third commented: “Soooo….what was that about. #FameInMyFamily”
“#FameInMyFamily What a waste of time, load of rubbish if you ask me,” someone else tweeted.
However, not all fans were disappointed with some praising it for being the perfect teatime show.
One shared: “#FameInMyFamily is brilliant, a great afternoon show.”
During the dinner party, the group played three games to try and figure out which one of them could be the long lost relative.
Each game will reveal more details about the famous face joining them at the dinner table.
The four strangers get the chance to learn more about the celebrities childhood and family history.
Once the three rounds are up, the contestants then make a final guess before the DNA results are finally revealed.
The £1,000 prize will then be split between whichever guests gave the correct answer.
The other famous faces in the series includes media personality Kerry Katona, professional dancers AJ and Curtis Pritchard and comedian Joe Pasquale.
They show will also feature politician Ann Widdecombe, reality star James ‘Arg’ Argent, popstar Toyah Wilcox, Happy Mondays Shaun Ryder and TV chef Rustie Lee among others.
Fame In My Family is on Channel 4 at 5.30pm
