A FAN favourite soap has been snubbed by the BAFTA TV Awards in a major shake-up.
The nominations for the 2023 BAFTA awards were announced today, but soap fans have been left baffled by a major change to the Soap & Continuing Drama category.

Coronation Street missed out on a nomination after the category was reduced from four nominees to just three – and despite winning last year
In previous years, there have been four contenders for the award, but this year it has been reduced to just three.
The nominees this year are BBC shows Casualty and EastEnders as well as ITV soap Emmerdale.
However, fellow ITV show Coronation Street has been snubbed, despite winning the gong last year.
Fans were quick to comment on the snub on Twitter, with one writing: “Why isn’t @itvcorrie nominated??”
It comes after soap fans were left furious after Corrie’s win didn’t even air on TV last year.
Sally Dynevor accepted the award for best Soap and Continuing Drama with co-star Charlie De Melo and show bosses.
Sally used her acceptance speech to highlight the important hate crime storyline in the ITV soap ripped straight from the headlines.
Despite Sally’s moving speech, Corrie fans were livid that the moving moment did not air in the main broadcast on live TV.
Instead it was categorised under ‘other awards’ and her speech subsequently published to social media.
Meanwhile, This is Going to Hurt and The Responder lead the nominations with six each.
They were closely followed by Bad Sisters, The Crown, The English and Slow Horses, which have five nominations each.
The BAFTA Television Awards will take place on Sunday, May 14 and will air on BBC One.
