The Bromley actress was cast for a guest stint in the ITV soap as Estelle, a fellow cruise singer and friend of Glenda Shuttleworth.
George’s sister, played by Jodie Prenger, has been on the side-lines for several months as she was seen helping Daisy Midgeley cope with her stalker ordeal.
But drama could be coming her way next week when George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) show tricky customer Estelle out of the funeral home.
When Glenda walks by, she immediately recognises her and explains that they used to work together on cruise ships.
Estelle reveals she’s the co-owner of a performing arts club for kids and says anybody can buy into the franchise and open their own branch.
Glenda’s interest is quickly piqued and, out of kindness, George offers to step in and help fund the new venture.
Unfortunately for the undertaker, his partner Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) is less trusting and is clearly disapproving of his decision.
Corrie bosses revealed 56-year-old Ruthie would be joining the Manchester-based program as Glenda’s pal Estelle earlier this month.
Shots teased her debut where she was seen sporting a red leather trench.
“I can’t believe I finally get to walk the cobbles! This is one of the most enjoyable guest roles of my career”, Ruthie gushed when speaking about her upcoming appearance.
“Everyone is so welcoming and I can’t believe after years of the street being in my life that I finally get to tread the cobbles.”

Ruthie has starred in some of the most popular musicals throughout her award-winning career.
She also appeared in American program Curb Your Enthusiasm and was a contestant in the 2020 edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.
