Drama continues to unfold in the Dales
Amelia gets the fright of her life
1. Cancer bombshell
Could the young mother portrayed by Daisy Campbell be set for a dramatic health scare this week?
In recent scenes of the Yorkshire-based ITV soap, Amelia ended her relationship with Noah Dingle upon finding out he had been paying off Samson Dingle to stay away from both her and Esther.
Noah went through a transformation while in prison for stalking Chloe Harris but Amelia was disappointed when his old manipulative self came back to secure his spot in her life.
This week, Amelia is all alone and faces thoughts of mortality.
Coming up, she can’t help but worry about who will look after Esther if anything happens to her.
Amelia attends the Doctors’ Surgery and it’s revealed she is concerned with good reason.
She confides in Manpreet Sharma (played by Rebecca Sarker) about a lump she found on her chest.
Manpreet refers an overwhelmed Amelia to the breast clinic, sending her in a panic.
In later scenes, Amelia receives a call from the clinic and agrees to go in the following day but the pressure gets too her.
Noah (Jack Downham) witnesses Amelia crying but decides to stay away.
Could Amelia be diagnosed with cancer?
Will Paddy forgive and forget?
2. Love triangle ahead
Meanwhile, Paddy Kirk continues his mental health battle as he slowly recovers from a depressive episode.
Dominic Brunt‘s on-screen alter ego has been at the core of a mental health storyline shining a light on male depression for several weeks.
His struggle has sent shockwaves throughout the eponymous village but when he realises the impact of his absence, Paddy offers to spend some time with his daughter Eve and Chas (Lucy Pargeter).
The former couple agree to reunite as a family, leading Paddy to read to Eve as Chas listens in.
Paddy later offers Chas a hug, proof that there are no more hard feelings between them but she melts once she’s in his arms and they kiss.
The moment is interrupted by Eve who calls down and they pull away instantly from one another.
Later on, Chas joins her cousin Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) to celebrate her upcoming wedding with a bottle of champagne in Mandy Dingle’s (Lisa Riley) beauty salon.
The beautician struggles to hide her own feelings when Charity tells her Chas and Paddy kissed.
Things take another nasty turn on the Main Street when Paddy overhears his father Bear Wolf confronting Chas about the other night and he’s furious.
She processes Paddy’s reaction, hoping he still has feelings for her after all.
Mandy is finding it hard to hide how devastated she feels and when she rushes out for coffee, she bumps into Paddy who explains he’s in turmoil over whether he should go back to Chas or not.
She encourages him to do what makes him happy but what will it be?
With both of his former wives keen to rekindle a romance with him, could Paddy’s mental state lead him to another difficult spot?
Tensions have been brimming between Mandy and Chas although they have tried to get along when Paddy went missing with a firm plan to end his life.
Could they fight for Paddy’s affection?
Or will Paddy make a choice this week?
What does Caleb have in mind for Leyla?
3. Sinister romance for Leyla
Speaking of romance, Leyla Harding has her work cut out for her with Caleb Milligan.
The pair recently got closer and romance is blossoming – but Caleb (Will Ash) isn’t being fully honest with the wedding planner (Roxy Shahidi).
Newcomer Caleb came to the eponymous village shrouded in mystery with the only information that Faith Dingle was his mother, making him Chas and Cain’s long-lost half-brother.
However, his true identity was revealed along with his plans.
Leyla is oblivious to his true intentions but Caleb could have a sinister plan for her in the works.
This week, Leyla is having second thoughts about her connection with Caleb.
She spends the night with him and in hindsight, is worried about her decision.
Caleb, on the other hand, tries to reassure her that he wants to spend time with her.
Could he have ulterior motives?
Will Rhona help Lucy and Gus?
4. Rhona revenge plot
Elsewhere in the Dales, Rhona Goskirk is struggling to make a decision about her frozen embryos this week.
But could her mother Mary retaliate in her favour?
Viewers will remember that Gus (Alan McKenna) came to Emmerdale to ask for Rhona’s permission to use one of her frozen embryos.
Rhona, portrayed by Zoe Henry, was flabbergasted to find out that he had been acting on her behalf behind her back as she believed the embryos had been destroyed following their marriage.
The dilemma could drive a wedge between Rhona and her mother Mary (Louise Jameson) who have worked hard to finally get along.
It all begins when Rhona celebrates her birthday in The Woolpack with her family.
Lucy and Gus soon make an appearance, much to her shock and Mary has a bone to pick with them.
After receiving both barrels from Mary, Gus and Lucy leave totally crushed.
Later on, however, Rhona is feeling wound up at Mary’s intervention but her husband Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) reassures her that her choices must be respected and he will support whatever decision she makes about the embryos.
Crumbling under pressure, Rhona heads out to clear her head when she spots a forlorn Gus comforting heartbroken Lucy.
Back at home, she reveals that she’s going to let Gus and Lucy use her embryos and that she’s already given them the good news.
Stunned, Marlon’s cautiously supportive but Mary is left reeling, horrified Rhona gave the couple her consent.
Although Mary has been spending most of her time with new love interest Faye, she isn’t one to allow anybody to take advantage of Rhona.
Could she come up with a plan to chase Gus and Lucy away?
How will Charity’s wedding go?
5. Wedding day disaster
Charity Dingle is due to tie the knot with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) in upcoming weeks.
But big days are more than often thrown into chaos in the Dales, particularly if the groom is hiding something from his bride.
Disaster begins to loom ahead of the nuptials when Mandy struggles with her feelings for Paddy.
After rushing out of her salon and bumping into Paddy, she remembers she’s in charge of Charity’s wedding hairdo.
She rushes back to the Salon in a panic, only to find Charity looking like a curly blonde poodle.
Could this be a teaser of the bombshell ahead as Mack finds it hard to cope with the guilt of his fling with Chloe Harris?
Will he reveal he’s the father of her unborn baby ahead of the ceremony?
