Paul Blackburn to Star in Adult Panto Jack And His Bigstalk
Just weeks after being evicted from the Big Brother house, Paul Blackburn has already secured a brand new job. The former security officer will be starring as a cow in the adult pantomime Jack And His Bigstalk, alongside fellow Big Brother housemate Simon Gross. The West End show is set to take place this December, and Paul will be playing the character 'Daisy the Scouse cow'.
A Controversial Exit from Big Brother
Paul, a 23-year-old Liverpool native, was evicted from the Big Brother house following a 'bullying' row. His behavior towards fellow housemate Noky, including calling her 'fake', sparked backlash from viewers. However, Paul has since stated that the reality of life inside the house is very different from what is portrayed on television.
Shocking Reception and Mental Health Advocacy
Upon leaving the house, Paul admitted that he was surprised by the negative reception he received from viewers. He emphasized that he and his fellow housemates are respectful and good people, and that certain narratives were being pushed onto them. Paul, who stands up for mental health, found it particularly difficult to accept the criticism he faced after leaving the house.
"In general, coming out to what I came out to no one in the house expected that, especially meself," he said in an interview with host AJ Odudu. "I went in there to have fun so I just want everyone to know about everyone in the house. No one has got any narratives, everyone's very respectful and they're very good people, every single one of them, so I don't know why people are getting certain narratives pushed on them."
Paul's new role in the adult panto will surely be a fresh start for him as he continues to navigate his post-Big Brother journey.
