STRICTLY Come Dancing star Helen Skelton could be making a shock return to the BBC show.
It has been reported that the 39-year-old has held talks with BBC bosses about hosting its spin-off series It Takes Two.
Helen Skelton could be the news co-host of It Takes Two
Helen took part in Strictly in 2022 and was partnered with Gorka Marquez.
According to the Mirror, it is understood that there were conversations on a temporary role to fill in for Jannette Manrara who is expecting her first child in the summer.
However, since Janette’s co-host Rylan Clark announced he was quitting the show on Wednesday, it is now believed that a more permanent role is being offered – and sources say Helen is the perfect fit.
The source said: “Not only is Helen a very experienced and popular presenter, she captured Strictly fans last year with her warmth and charisma.
“She was also a hit with the team, from the top bosses to the make-up teams, production and the crew.
“The pro dancers all know her and as a former contestant, she knows what the celebrities are going through. It seems like she could be a perfect fit for us.”
Helen began her career as an extra on Coronation Street and Cutting It before finding fame on Blue Peter in 2008.
Since 2014 she has hosted Countryfile and is currently in C5’s On the Farm.
The 39-year-old’s world was rocked last year when her marriage to Richie Myler came to an end – four months after she gave birth to their third child.
Following their split, Helen and their three kids moved from Leeds to her parent’s farm in Cumbria.
The TV star then pushed it upon herself to take part in Strictly 2022, where she was partnered with Gorka Marquez.
The dance duo finished runners-up against Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal.
