CHANNEL 4’s Four in a Bed show caused one hotelier to burst into tears and put her head in her hands after receiving unexpected feedback from guests.
Taking part in last week’s episodes were B&B owners Andrew and Angie, Katie and Jess, Emma and Emily, and Darren and Jamie.
Angie and Andrew were overwhelmed by the feedback their fellow contestants gave them
The couple reflected on what the comments meant to them as ‘newbies’ in the industry
For anyone who hasn’t seen Four in a Bed, each couple spend a night at each other’s hotels and pass judgement on everything from appearance, cleanliness, value for money and food.
After the stay, each couple is asked how much they would pay for the experience and the winners are declared after receiving the best reviews.
There can often be some pretty blunt reactions and appraisals of the hotels, regularly resulting in tears and tantrums from the contestants.
As Angie and Andrew learned what the others had thought of their Daisy Bank Camp in Yorkshire, they became quite emotional.
In addition to the self-built cabins that offer a glamping experience in the Yorkshire moors, the couple both work a different full-time job.
Sitting down to hear the responses from all the guests it soon became clear everyone had enjoyed their stays at the camp.
Upon realising every couple had paid the full amount for their stay, Angie put her head in her hands and broke down in tears as she thanked everyone.
Fellow Channel 4 contestants Emma and Emily were delighted to give Angie and Andrew their money, telling them: “You are more than welcome. Well deserved, honestly… at the risk of reducing you to a complete puddle.”
Later in the show Angie reflected on what the positive feedback means to them.
She said: “We were aware going into this that we were being scrutinised by industry professionals.
“Which is a very tough crowd for us as newbies.”
During the same week of shows Four in a Bed viewers witnessed Katie and Jess’s disappointment after they failed to impress their fellow contestants.
The competing hotel owners traveled to Congleton in Cheshire to stay at the The Lion and Swan.
The glamping park owners went through the feedback and counted up the money
Emma and Emily only had positive things to stay about their stay at Angie and Andrew’s cabins
