FREDDIE Slater settled in Albert Square last year, rapidly becoming a favourite for soap fans.
But after standing on the side-lines, the EastEnders character played by Bobby Brazier gets his own one-of-a-kind storyline.
Freddie Slater gets his own storyline next week
He has been standing on the side-lines in recent weeks
But his former school teacher raises alarm bells
Bold, quick-witted and with a pronounced talent for scheming, there’s no doubt about it – Freddie is definitely a Slater.
Next week on BBC One, the lad tries to put his gifts to use when he attempts to recruit a dream-team for The Vic pub quiz and he seeks help from an unlikely source.
In later scenes, the quiz is well underway as Walford residents battle it out.
However, Freddie’s ability to think outside the box leads him straight into a heated rivalry with Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) teams and it all boils over.
Yet this won’t be the only thing Freddie will be up to next week as he’s soon caught up by his former school teacher Mr Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis).
In previous scenes of the London-based program, Mr Hawthorne apologised to Freddie for mocking him during his time as his teacher but he also tried to give the youngster some clarity by suggesting he could be displaying signs of ADHD.
Mr Hawthorne arrives in Albert Square with an ADHD referral card for Freddie in an attempt to help, but he refuses to listen.
But he later changes his mind and agrees to meet with the ADHD specialist when his good friend Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) talks some sense into him.
It then becomes apparent that Freddie has a lot of the tell-tale symptoms of ADHD.
Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, most commonly known as ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood.
While it is usually diagnosed during childhood, the condition may last into adulthood and symptoms include carelessness and lack of attention to detail, poor organisational skills, forgetfulness and an inability to focus or prioritise.
People who have ADHD are also most likely to continually start new tasks before finishing old ones and they may experience restlessness or edginess.
Much like Freddie, they also have a tendency to speak out of turn.
