GOGGLEBOX fans were left fuming by tonight’s repeated episode and accused Channel 4 of “lying” to them.
Viewers were disappointed when they clocked that the “new” episode was in fact a compilation of all of the series’ best bits.
The popular programme aired moments from telly shows including Starstruck, The Home Edit, Made in Chelsea, SAS, This Is Going to Hurt and Dynasties II.
Unhappy fans pointed out that the clips were old, despite being labelled “new” on the episode schedule.
The current season has come to a close, with the new series of Celebrity Gogglebox starting next week.
One disgruntled viewer wrote: “Everyone is livid that about #Gogglebox being ‘a best of’@Channel4”

A second posted: “Thanks channel 4 ruined my Friday with repeats #Gogglebox”
A third chimed in: “@Channel4 are liars they piece together clips from the last series to call it new. It’s a #Repeat #Gogglebox”
Another raged: “@Channel4 when you piece together clips from the series it’s not a premier it’s a #REPEAT #Gogglebox #SortItOut”
It comes after Gogglebox’s Baggs family have quit the show after three series saying they “couldn’t commit”.
The Essex family – dad Terry, mum Lisa and sons Joe and George – are well-known to viewers for their over-the-top reactions.
They issued a joint statement, hinting that they were leaving to take on other telly opportunities.
They explained: “After 3 incredible seasons on Channel 4’s Gogglebox we have taken the decision to leave the show.
“We have loved every second of being part of the Gogglebox family and it’s truly been the opportunity of a lifetime.
“With lots of exciting opportunities approaching for us all, we just couldn’t commit to filming another series, but are so grateful for the opportunity.
“Thank you for all your support whilst we have been on the show. We hope that you’re as excited as we are for what’s coming next!
“Much love, The Baggs
.”
Under Gogglebox rules, its stars are not allowed to appear on other shows while shooting the series.
However, former names from the Channel 4 hit have gone on to big things after stepping down, most notably Scarlett Moffatt.
