Shows shelved
TV channels have put a halt to shows featuring presenter Jay Blades after he was charged with coercive behaviour towards his wife.
Replacement considerations
The Beeb have removed Blades from the upcoming Christmas special of renovation show The Repair Shop and are looking at potential replacements like Will Kirk and Dominic Chinea.
Other shows affected
Channel 5 has also shelved a documentary series, while Channel 4 has scrapped plans for a sequel to Blades' travelogue with Dame Judi Dench.
Uncertain future
With court proceedings pending, TV chiefs are reevaluating their plans. However, The Repair Shop is likely to continue due to its immense popularity.
Court appearance and charges
Blades, who has presented The Repair Shop for seven years, faced charges of controlling and coercive behaviour against his estranged wife at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court.
Legal proceedings
West Mercia Police launched an investigation following a post by Blades' wife on Instagram announcing the end of their marriage. Blades is due to appear at Worcester Crown Court on October 11.
Blades' spokeswoman declined to comment on the situation.
