But with all that said, Gangs of London has been hailed as, potentially, one of the best British crime dramas of all time.
Of course, the major selling point is that it’s the most violent thing on television – but that’s putting it lightly.
The show boasts some of the most jaw-dropping action sequences ever shown on any screen, big or small.
And the hyper-violent gangster thriller has continued with an explosive second season that has sent a pang of fear rippling through viewers.
Those brave enough to tune into the second instalment have taken to Twitter in their droves to air their thoughts – and they all share the same damning sentiment.
Alongside an array of shocked-faced emojis, one person penned: “Just binge-watched the second series of Gangs of London. Absolutely fantastic.
“The plot, the acting and the stomach-churning levels of violence. I’m off to go get some counselling.”
Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Ladies and gentlemen, after two years, the second season of Gangs of London is out. Violence and blood. Say no more.”
While a third added: “The first episode of Gangs of London is dangerous, epic, scary, overwhelming, problematic, tragic and violent. I’m traumatised.”
Season two picks up a year after the first left off and, by the looks and sound of things, it’s as dark and dangerous as ever.
The programme has followed the battles between rival mobs operating in England’s modern-day capital city.
At the centre of the show has been the death of kingpin Finn Wallace, who had, until his untimely death, kept London’s crime factions in check.
