The £40 per ticket acting masterclass was stopped while the woman was treated before ultimately being cancelled.
Alison was left visibly shaken by the ordeal and was led away by concerned friends.
An audience member said: “Luckily a doctor was in the audience but organisers called 999 and an ambulance was on scene within minutes.”
Steadman is adored by millions of Gavin and Stacey fans for her role as Pam Shipman in the BBC comedy series.
Before the terrifying incident Alison was quizzed if James Corden had plans to write another series now he has returned to the UK.
Alison said she was being kept in the dark over any plans saying: “I don’t know. I really don’t know.”
The show returned in 2019 for a one-off Christmas special which drew in a record 18 million viewers.
Previously speaking about the future of Gavin and Stacey, James told The Celeb Report: “In truth Ruth and I met up at Christmas… and I know it will be a disappointment, but we didn’t talk about it in life-growing forms.
“We talked about who we had spoken to from the cast recently, but that was about it.
“It is wonderful people loved the characters that much and whenever I’m back home, and chat with the cabbies they say, ‘You’ve done well for yourself’. It’s lovely.
“But now people only want a good show. I don’t think about [Smithy and Nessa’s future] until Ruth and I are in a room.”
Meanwhile, Alison’s next big role is playing Robbie Williams’s grandmother Betty in his forthcoming biopic Better Man.
