Gentleman Jack viewers all have the same complaint about Suranne Jones’ character – but can you spot why?

GENTEMAN Jack viewers have all had the same complaint about Suranne Jones’ character as series two continues.

The BBC drama sees Suranne play Anne Lister, whose real life diaries have been used to create the show.

Suranne plays Anne Lister, and her eyebrows certainly seem bigger in series two than series one (pictured)

Gentleman Jack is set in 1832 in West Yorkshire and follows Anne’s romance with Ann Walker, with the couple making history as the first lesbian marriage to be recorded.

While the drama focuses on Listers’ many love affairs and marriage with Walker, viewers have started to become distracted by one of Anne’s facial features as series two progresses.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “The eyebrows have turned her into a cartoon caricature.”

Another added: “It’s the eyebrows… I know it’s shallow of me… but I’m distracted by the eyebrows… all I can see is eyebrows… nothing but eyebrows #GentlemanJack (the gif is from series one… they are ten times bigger in series two).”

A third tweeted: “I’m having eyebrow continuity issues with Suranne’s eyebrows”.

Meanwhile a fourth wrote: “I swear Anne Lister’s eyebrows are getting bigger.”

A fellow viewer agreed, writing: “The eyebrows are so distracting”.

While Suranne, 43, has perfectly shaped eyebrows in real life, as Anne, they are a lot thicker than they appeared in series one.

A source previously told The Scottish Sun that Suranne prepared for the role by growing all of her body hair for six months.

An insider said in 2019 that Suranne had thrown out her razors and stopped plucking her eyebrows

They said: “It was awkward and problematic at first, and her husband was rather taken aback.

“But they have both got used to the idea now, and she actually finds not trimming any body hair quite liberating.”

Gentleman Jack airs Sundays at 9pm on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
