GEORDIE Hospital viewers have all been asking the same question after witnessing gruesome eye and tooth surgery scenes.
The fly-on-the-wall Channel 4 documentary showcases the dedication and tireless work of some of our NHS heroes and follows the moving stories of the patients they care for.
Understandably, the show has become a massive hit amongst viewers, with many loving the format that showcases the NHS staff hard at work.
However, some fans of the show have become disappointed that a number of other staff get left out of filming.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer penned: “Geordie Hospital is an amazing show, but I just wish they would show some of the other specialists who work tirelessly behind the scenes.”
Echoing their comments, someone else said: “It would be nice to see some of the gastro team on Geordie Hospital. They do some amazing work both in paediatrics and adult care.”
While a third remarked: “Yet another programme where only the surgeons and nurses are visible. Time to improve the visibility of the science of anaesthesia.”
During its latest episode, Amelia Mills had a life-changing spinal operation after a double-curvature of her spine threatened to stop her theatrical dream in its tracks.
On the day of her operation, her mum Angela Bainbridge recalled to the Evening Chronicle: “When the day was approaching my anxiety was rising – and there was a bit more because we knew about being on TV.
“But on the day itself when we were at the hospital, the Channel 4 team were so incredibly lovely with us and put us completely at ease.
“Even when Amelia was having the actual surgery, they took us off to the park and chatted on to us, taking our minds off it.”
All episodes of Geordie Hospital are now available to watch on All 4.
