George Shuttleworth comes to blows with Todd Grimshaw after brutal betrayal in Coronation Street

TENSION runs high next week as Todd Grimshaw rethinks his entire career with George Shuttleworth.

The Coronation Street undertakers get into an explosive fight next week after a massive betrayal.

Both men have been working as colleagues and friends in the ITV cobbles, particularly as George (Tony Maudsley) took over his father Archie’s business in 2020.

He hired Todd Grimshaw after opening up a new funeral parlour on Victoria Street and their business partnership has been going strong ever since.

However, their bond is on the line next week when Todd (Gareth Pierce) begins to contemplate the possibility of another job.

It all begins when he finds a card that George had thrown in the bin from Troy at Rest Easy.

The card bears a message asking Todd to have a chat about his future career.

Todd confides in George’s sister Glenda (Jodie Prenger) who says he should ask for a pay rise.

When George is evasive, Todd has had enough and calls Troy and arranges a meeting.

Troy offers Todd a job at RestEasy on a salary of £30k plus bonus.

While an impressed Todd promises to think it over, it’s clear he’s tempted as, in later scenes, he gets involved in an explosive row with George.

Over breakfast, George makes it clear to Todd that their working relationship is over.

Todd’s mother and George’s partner Eileen (Sue Cleaver), on the other hand, urges him to bury the hatchet with Todd and pay him a decent salary.

George tells Eileen that he needs a replacement for Todd who’s accepted the job at RestEasy… and he soon turns to her for help, believing she’d be a brilliant associate.

But will she accept his offer?

Will Todd regret his decision?

Can George forgive Todd for his betrayal?

Is their relationship broken beyond repair?
