GMB viewers all saying the same thing as Richard Madeley disappears off show

GOOD Morning Britain viewers enjoyed the change on Good Morning Britain today as Martin Lewis stepped in for Richard Madeley.

The money saving expert took part in a special today alongside Susanna Reid – meaning Richard wasn’t on air.

Richard Madeley was not on GMB today

Susanna Reid was joined by Martin Lewis

Richard – who normally presents Monday to Wednesday – ended his working week early to make room for Martin, who impressed viewers with his passionate and helpful advice.

Taking to Twitter to discuss his absence today, one person wrote: “How refreshing to see Martin instead of the tripe that’s Richard #GMB.”

Another added: “Quite liked having Susanna Reid flying solo without Richard Madeley talking about himself for the first hour.”

While someone else remarked: “What no Richard Madeley? Thank God for that!! I’ll watch today. I love the programme but don’t watch when he’s on it.”

GMB in huge shake-up as Susanna Reid hosts first hour ALONE

Richard’s absence comes after having on air arguments this week with Susanna Reid as the pair clashed over Will Smith’s Oscars slap.

He also took a week long break earlier this month as well, and was replaced then by Martin Lewis and Adil Ray.

The Celeb Report exclusively revealed in November that Madeley had signed up to replace Piers with an estimated £300,000-a-year deal.

A source said at the time: “Richard has always maintained he would never do GMB full-time, as he loves his life as it is.

“But as the weeks have gone by, and he’s proven a constant hit with viewers, he’s really got into his stride and has been enjoying it more and more.

“He polls really well with fans and ratings have steadily been on the rise again over the past six months. After a couple of meetings with ITV bosses, he was offered a staff contract. And after consulting with his family, especially wife Judy, he decided ‘sod it’ — and to go for it.”

Piers infamously quit the popular morning programme last year after he stormed off set following a row with weatherman Alex Beresford.

After walking out on the show, Piers revealed he turned down 20 jobs before signing a historic deal with The Celeb Report, adding how he was “coming home”.
