GOGGLEBOX favourite Paige Deville has revealed she’s spending Christmas Day alone.
The 25-year-old admitted she’s facing the “toughest battle” after a fallout with her co-star mum Sally.
The pair sensationally quit the Channel 4 show in September – slamming it for providing “zero after care” and being “controlling” in a scathing social media message.
It followed a bitter feud between Paige and her mum, which has been kept under wraps.
But appearing to suggest they have still not been able to make amends, Paige wrote on Instagram: “I wasn’t going to post this on here, but it might help other people in the same situation.
“Due to many reasons I am spending Christmas Day alone this year.
“A first time for everything but I’m positive and my plan is to eat, drink, listen to music, watch films and be merry.
“If anyone is in the same boat then drop me a message, don’t feel alone and let’s use social media to its advantage.
“Remember that God creates his strongest soldiers by giving them the toughest battles.
“Merry Christmas.”
She shared the message with a snap of her Christmas tree in front of the fire and TV.
The 25-year-old Brummie earlier revealed that it was her mum Sally who quit Gogglebox first.
She shared: “There have been problems within the family and my mum was given an ultimatum. The decision means I have nothing to do with her now. I think the decision is irreversible. It is very sad but that’s life unfortunately.”
Paige went on to tell BirminghamLive that when her mum said she’d no longer film Gogglebox she was invited to work with another family member, but she didn’t want to.
She added: “My mum and myself had started the journey together and I wasn’t going to film with anyone else.”
Paige did not share any further details about what happened between her and her mum, but blasted Gogglebox for not offering more support in the wake of it.
She explained: “I felt I didn’t really have any support after the split with my mum. They sent me a number to speak to a therapist. But i didn’t feel like there was much after care support.”
Paige went onto slam “being thrown into the lions den”, claiming she was offered little help from bosses when it came to dealing with cruel online trolls.
She also hinted she’d fallen out of love with working on the show a while back.
The TV favourite blasted the long filming sessions, which would begin at 3.30pm and go on until after midnight – with cast members paid just £100 per filming session.
Paige also said she and her mum were often second choice when “favourites” weren’t available to film.
She claimed: “There are more popular characters on the show than myself and my mum like Pete and Sophie and the Malones. When they weren’t available producers would contact us and ask us to film at the drop of a hat which we would do.”
Taking to her Twitter page today, Paige had seethed: “I have made the decision to walk away from Gogglebox. It’s been an experience but one I cannot continue with due to long hours of filming, restrictiveness, control of our actions and opinions & zero aftercare support but hey who cares about ex cast, [they’re] NTA winners.”
Channel 4 responded in a statement: “The welfare of contributors – past and present – is of paramount importance and robust protocols are in place to support contributors before, during and after taking part in the series.”
Paige’s departure comes amid a difficult few months for Gogglebox, which has endured three heartbreaking deaths, and seven cast members quit the programme ahead of tonight’s new series.
