Gogglebox favorite George Gilbey will be laid to rest at the end of the month, thanks to the support of well-wishers who stepped in to help his grieving family. His mum and co-star, Linda McGarry, 74, received over £6,000 in donations to cover the costs of his send-off.

Donations for a Good Cause

Any surplus funds from the funeral will be used to support George's seven-year-old daughter, Amelie. The reality star will be laid to rest near his home in Clacton, Essex. Linda expressed her gratitude, saying she did not expect to be burying her son and is touched by the generous donations that will give George the send-off he deserves.

Tragic Accident

Electrician George Gilbey, aged 40, tragically passed away on March 27 after a work accident in Shoebury. He fell through a skylight on the roof of a warehouse. The sudden loss prompted an outpouring of support, with donations doubling from less than £3,000 to £6,041 in just two days.

Police Investigation

Essex Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding George Gilbey's untimely death. Messages of condolences and sympathy have been pouring in for Linda and her family during this difficult time.
