Gogglebox’s Julie Malone excitedly reveals Portaloo in her garden as she teases return of new series

GOGGLEBOX star Julie Malone has teased the return of the new series by revealing a Portaloo in her garden.

The Malone matriarch filmed herself and husband Tom in front of the outdoor toilet, set up for crew to use during filming.

Julie showed off the Portaloo in the garden

Ahead of the new series, which will be returning to our screens in two weeks time, the couple took to Twitter to reveal their new addition.

Panning round the green lavatory at a variety of angles, the Malones excitedly told their fans: “Yay! At last it’s arrived”

“Bit of a s***er really, look at it,” Tom joked back, turning his nose up and looking mildly disgusted.

Julie showed fans the Portaloo as she explained it meant they were “getting ready” for Gogglebox filming to commence.

The star and her husband Tom said the loo was for “Covid safety”

Tom confirmed the loo was for “Covid safety” reasons to prevent crew from coming inside their house.

“Some Friday soon,” Tom signed off, confirming the show’s return. “See you in our living room and you’ll see us in ours.”

Julie captioned the video: “It’s arrived! That means we are getting ready to start back soon! See you on the 26th.”

While many of the family’s 135,000 followers were quick to share their excitement for the new series, some were left a little confused.

The family are firm favourites on the Channel 4 show

“Sorry to be thick, but why do you have to have portaloo?” one fan asked in the comments.

“For the crew as they can’t come in to use ours,” Julie confirmed again, citing the “Covid rules” in place during the UK’s third national lockdown.

The couple’s son Tom Malone recently revealed that crew had linked cameras in their living room from their vans outside to avoid contact.

It came after Channel 4 were forced to release a statement following 163 Ofcom complaints from viewers questioning household mixing.

Son Tom recently opened up about the behind-the-scenes of their filming experience

Tom answered a series of fan’s questions, revealing how they are banned from switching seats and get two free takeaways a week during filming.

He told his followers: “Without a doubt, one of the best perks of Gogglebox is that every time we film, which is twice a week, the crew get us a takeaway of our choosing.

“It’s literally one of the most amazing things about the show, honest to god. It’s the best.”
