Good Morning Britain fans all have the same complaint after Richard Arnold pays tribute to Scotland ahead of Burns Night

GOOD Morning Britain sparked an outcry on Twitter today after Richard Arnold attempted to pay tribute to Scotland on Burns Night.

The show’s entertainment editor walked onto set in a kilt to the sound of bagpipes, when presenter Ed Balls made a “rude” remark.

The tribute was slammed by viewers who branded Richard and and host Ed Balls ‘rude’

Ed said: “Are you naked under your skirt?” to which Richard joked he’d already flashed Scottish star Lorraine Kelly backstage.

Richard, 52, later delivered a shaky Scots accent that left some people cringing on Twitter.

One person raged: “Richard Arnold is taking the p**s with that accent.”

Another ranted: “@edballs skirt? SKIRT?? Rude. #gmb”

Another mounted a mutiny online, writing: “GMB dragged up north, Under your skirt, I lived in Aberdeen, Here’s my tartan dress! The f****n contempt and patronising b*****t being displayed”

Another wrote: ““dragged north of the border” “under your skirt”… come on GMB!!!!bit of respect!”

Richard admitted to hos Susanna Reid after the segment: “I’m more Celtic blunder then Celtic thunder at the moment.

“But I would really love to be straddling Hadrian’s Wall this morning, just not wearing this.

Burns Night on January 25 is the birthday of Scotland’s national Bard.

The former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer Ed joined Susanna Reid on GMB – but his appearance didn’t go down too well, with some viewers calling it “awkward” and “boring”.

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Ed is among several guest presenters who have been filling in for Piers Morgan since his departure from the show last year.

Piers has since been signed up to News UK’s TalkTV and is a columnist for The Celeb Report.
