Alongside weather host Laura Tobin, 41, Good Morning Britain put the spotlight on reservoir water levels and taps running dry.

Ranvir, who replaced regular host Susanna Reid on Thursday’s episode after she went “missing“, opened up about the tricks she uses at home.

She told co-host Ben Shephard, 48: “I don’t know what we were talking about last year but I said, in our house, if it’s a wee we don’t flush it during the day.

“If there’s no people – if it’s just us at home.

“No we don’t.”

She added: “And then it was interesting because a couple of my friends said ‘that’s a bit weird but we have stopped doing that as well.’

“Because as you hear … just flushing the loo.

“It is a sort of change of thinking, it’s something we take for granted which we think is always going to be there.”

She has previously spoken candidly about her toilet advice.

Fans were quick to react on Twitter, with one writing: “Erm, yeah I’m not doing that, Ranvir.”

Another put: “Ranvir’s house must stink of p**s in this hot weather.”

A fan agreed with Ranvir and added: “Our precious water must come back under our control asap.”

Yet one mused: “Now she’s telling us not to flush.”

It came as Ranvir made an unexpected appearance on today’s show.

Regular ITV anchor Ben was a familiar face to viewers on-screen this morning – yet regular anchor Susanna, 52, was absent.

Susanna often hosts with Ben on Thursday’s, with Kate Garraway, 56, joining them on news.

Regular Good Morning Britain stand-in Ranvir instead kept Susanna’s seat warm as the pair discussed the three recent tragic murders in Nottingham city centre.

Meanwhile, Kate was also off work, with newsreader Jonathan Swain in her place.
