GOOD Morning Britain fans told the show hosts to “grow up today” after wet farting noises played over the studio speakers.
Susanna Reid burst into giggles as her temporary co-host Martin Lewis – who has replaced Richard Madeley today – hoisted his legs into the air and pretended to let rip.
Grumpy viewers didn’t find it funny shortly after 6am.
One moaned on Twitter: “Grow up, you idiots. Behaving like schoolkids.”
Another snapped: “Just ridiculous”
And one more viewer tweeted: “Surely better things to talk about than farting”
The topic of farting came up after US president Joe Biden reportedly broke wind “loudly” while making small talk with Camilla Parker Bowles at a COP26 summit gathering.
The Duchess of Cornwall “hadn’t stopped talking about it”.
Martin said: “If we need to fart we need to fart.
“I wonder if we are a little bit po-faced about farting, do you think (we) can hold it in when they’re sitting in on a three hour shift presenting telly?”
He added: “It can be really bad for someone’s digestive health to keep it in!”
Susanna replied: “I don’t think deliberately going out and having no self control when you have self control should be encouraged.”
Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis returned to host with Susanna after Richard signed up to I’m A Celebrity.
The Celeb Report revealed that bosses had finally replaced Piers Morgan after his sensational exit back in March – with Madeley landing a £300,000 deal to co-host alongside Susanna.
In the meantime, former Labour Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls will be guest hosting for three days, with his episodes to air from Monday 15 until Wednesday 17th November.
One of Susanna’s best friends, Rob Rinder, will also be joining the team for two dates – taking a seat behind the desk on Wednesday 10th November and Wednesday 1st December.
The two previously appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox together.
