Good Morning Britain star tests positive for Covid two days after hosting show and is forced to isolate before Christmas

GOOD Morning Britain presenter Sean Fletcher has tested positive for Covid – two days after hosting the live ITV show.

The 47-year-old shared the news on Instagram this afternoon, revealing he had been forced to skip hosting duties on his BBC One show Sunday Morning Live.

Sean is a regular presenter on Good Morning Britain and hosted the show on Monday with Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins

The broadcaster said: “Had quite a morning.

“A positive Lateral Flow Test backed up by a positive PCR test. Went downstairs for breakfast and cut my finger with a bread knife. Couldn’t stop it bleeding.

Patched myself up in time for an appearance on #SundayMorningLive via zoom with #AdrianChiles covering for me”

He shared photos of his positive lateral flow result and his bloodied finger, with followers reaching out to wish him a speedy recovery.

GMB medic Doctor Zoe Williams replied to his post: “Oh noooooo! Hope the Covid is a mild case Sean – just coming out the other end here x”

And one fan wrote: “Get well soon. Praying for quick recovery my dear brother

Sean is a regular presenter on GMB along with Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard, Ranvir Singh, Charlotte Hawkins and Kate Garraway.

Ben, Susanna, and Kate get two weeks off at Christmas, while Charlotte revealed she is set to cover hosting duties from Monday.

She said on Friday’s show: “So, that is all from us, Good Morning Britain is back from 6am.”

“You’re off now, aren’t you?” she added to Ben Shephard.

He replied: “That’s it now for me for Christmas. I’ll see you on the other side of New Year.”

“I’ll be back from Monday,” Charlotte said.
