Good Morning Britain viewers slam its ‘montage of misery’ during Christmas Day episode

GOOD Morning Britain viewers have slammed its ‘montage of misery’ during its Christmas Day episode.

The ITV programme aired a pre-recorded festive edition this morning, with presenters Kate Garraway, Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard all in attendance.

However, viewers were not impressed when at one point, the show aired a montage looking back over 2021, and it didn’t contain much festive spirit.

With the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, political turmoil in Westminster and travel restrictions, it didn’t make for a happy watch.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “That #GMB montage of the year could barely have been more depressing if it tried.”

Another added: “Nice montage of misery from #gmb this morning. Very uplifting!”

A third tweeted: “GMB depressing everyone on Christmas day.”

However, there were some merrier moments during the show, as The Wanted were in the studio to sing festive tunes while the presenters swapped Christmas presents.

Kate received an angel wing necklace and a tree to hug, while Ben got a Christmas message from Patti Clare, who plays Mary in Coronation Street, a West Ham themed Monopoly board and a signed Jamie Cullum album.

Susanna was last to go and she opened a Crystal Palace snow globe and a stunning pair of earrings.
