GOOD Morning Britain is to air on Sundays for the first time after the death of the Queen.

The ITV morning show has been a regular presence in the schedules since the sad announcement on Thursday.

For the past two days GMB has been fronted by Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard.

It aired a historic Saturday edition which left some viewers confused about what day it was.

However, the Sunday show will be fronted by Kate Garraway.

Good Morning Britain will air for just under an hour at the much later than usual time of 9.30am on Sunday.

It will be followed by another showing of Queen Elizabeth II, the documentary narrated by Mary Nightingale at 10.25am.

Good Morning Britain to air on a Saturday for first time

From 11.30am the channel will show a special programme, ITV News: The Nations Proclaim the King.

Then there is a scheduled ITV News bulletin at 1.30pm with continuous news coverage running through to 4.30pm.

At 4.30pm, ITV will broadcast one-hour film The Age of Elizabeth, narrated by Julie Etchingham.

There’s then national then local news at 5.30pm followed by Emmerdale – the episode that was pulled on Thursday.

After that it’s almost back to normal with Gino’s Italy at 7.30pm, Ridley at 8pm and News At Ten.

The broadcaster said: “ITV’s main channel will continue to make changes to its schedule to broadcast the important state events of the coming days culminating in the historic state funeral with extensive and dedicated news coverage from our news teams.

“ITV will also be showing a number of documentaries about the Queen and the new King over the coming days.  No advertising will run during any of the Royal coverage.

“ITV is reintroducing some of its normal programming over the next few days to provide our viewers with the range of shows that they expect to see on the main ITV channel.

“Commercial breaks will begin to appear in normal programming from Sunday evening.

“Further changes to the schedule will be announced in due course.”
