GRAND Designs viewers have all been left feeling the exact same way after watching this week’s episode of the property series – utterly inspired.
While we all love to watch things so dramatically wrong from time to time, on Wednesday night’s episode fans of the series were taken in by Corinne, a chef on a quest to build her dream house in Sydenham Hill, South London.
Corrine had planned her ultimate dream home and made it a reality

After a tumultuous few years which included a divorce, a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, all during the Covid outbreak, Corinne was on a mission to build her perfect home complete with kitchens suitable for entertaining friends.
With a pretty hefty £600,000 renovation budget, Corinne got to work on building the property on a plot of land next to where she was currently living.
She admitted how daunting she found the life-changing project, especially as a single woman dealing with it all on her own. However, she also found the renovations something to give her focus as she continued her cancer treatment.
At the end of the episode, viewers were able to see her freshly moved into her dream home, just the way she wanted it (although with a slightly higher cost than she was expecting at £650,000).
The house was built at the end of a terrace, with proportions allowing her to look out over the woodlands nearby as if it were the countryside.
Impressed host Kevin McCloud stood in awe of the building, as Corinne joked that her stress levels were low “but exhaustion levels were high” after taking on such a feat.
Viewers cheered her on the entire way, impressed with what she was able to create by herself after such a struggle of a few years.

“I have to say I think that’s one of my favourite #granddesigns houses I’ve ever seen and I’ve watched most of them,” said another avid viewer. “It wasn’t huge or showy. What a wonderful find of a location. Corinne has found a protected parcel of London and I hope she enjoys it, and that view, for many years.”
While a fifth added: “I am in absolute awe of Corrine. He vision and courage are truly inspiring. Delivering an astonishing home. #granddesigns”
Looks like she managed to achieve the sought-after seal of approval!
