Grand Designs is known for it’s ambitious housing projects and unique architectural work.
But Grand Designs: The Streets depicts Britain’s biggest self-build project as brand-new streets are created across the country.
However, fans of the Channel 4 franchise were not happy with the second episode of third instalment.
Viewers took to social media in their droves to express their disappointment with the way the new houses are built.
One viewer wrote: “A relentless parade of cuboids placed at jaunty angles to another. #GrandDesigns.”
Another noted: “VERY expensive hole in the ground. #GrandDesignsStreets #GrandDesigns.”
Whilst a third exclaimed: “Hmm, not sure about the bathroom, too much of one colour / tiles.”
A fourth fan of the show penned: “Oopsie, car lift doesn’t fit in the hole. Looks like some grinding will need to be done on the concrete. #GrandDesignsStreets #GrandDesigns”
Meanwhile, a fifth viewer commented: “House looks reasonable, but the polystyrene / concrete system has been tries before on Grand Designs, and it has had lots of problems.”
And a sixth said: “Just watching #GrandDesigns with ICF structure.
“Polystyrene formwork with plastic ties and rebar filled with concrete must be environmentally one of the worst wall assemblies out there. Huge upfront carbon and almost impossible to recycle at the end of life.”
