Grantchester returned to screens with a bang tonight as randy vicar Will hit the sack with a new love interest.
The man of God, played by Tom Brittney, met newcomer Maya at a jazz club and things soon got heated when she later tracked him down at the vicarage.
As the pair flirted in the graveyard, Maya teasingly said: “What does one for fun at a vicarage?”
The next time viewers of the ITV drama saw the frisky pair, they were in bed together with Will kissing at her neck and shoulder.
“Am I a terrible sinner?” she asked her shirtless lover as they lay post coital between the sheets.
“I think you are the most amazing woman I have ever met,” Will replied.
The sizzling scene and chemistry between the pair left fans abuzz on twitter.
One viewer tweeted: “The vicar’s in her knickers. Naughty boy!”
A second said: “We all know what Will does for fun at a vicarage…”
A third chimed in: “I really must start going to church!”
A twist later in the episode, however, showed that Will is headed for heartache.
It was revealed that Maya is engaged to DCI Wallace, the new detective in Grantchester who works with fan favourite Georgie Keating (Robson Green)
Newcomer Maya is played by actress, Elloria Torchia, who has joins the cast for series 7.
Elloria, 25, is best known for playing Maggie in The Split.
Actor Tom Brittney has teased of his character’s romantic life in upcoming episodes: “This series really tests Will’s romantic life and relationships.
“A person comes into his life and causes a lot of problems because when Will falls in love, he falls hard.
“Then someone else comes along, who Will wasn’t expecting and they throw a spanner into the works.
“He has a real dilemma on his hands of what to do. He needs to choose between following his head or his heart.”
